Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Scriba macOS application, the Scriba web client at app.getscriba.app, and this marketing website at getscriba.app (together, the "Service"), operated by Scriba ("we", "us", "our").
By creating an account, downloading Scriba, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Accounts
You must provide accurate information when you sign up. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you use Scriba on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Acceptable use
You may use Scriba to record, transcribe, and work with meetings you are entitled to capture. You are solely responsible for obtaining any consent required by law or workplace policy before recording others.
- Do not use the Service to violate applicable law or third-party rights.
- Do not attempt to bypass usage limits, security controls, or abuse protections.
- Do not reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the Service except where expressly permitted by law.
- Do not upload malware or interfere with the Service's operation.
Plans and billing
Scriba offers Free, Pro, Max, and license-based plans as described on our pricing page. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. Prices, features, and allowances may change; we will give reasonable notice of material changes to paid plans.
Upgrades take effect immediately and may be prorated. Downgrades apply at the start of your next billing cycle unless stated otherwise. Refund requests for first-time paid charges may be considered within 30 days — contact us at the email below.
Your content
Meeting audio, transcripts, summaries, notes, contacts, and other data you create in Scriba remain yours. The Service stores meeting content locally on your Mac by default. When you sign in, metadata and optional audio may sync to our cloud infrastructure under your account controls.
You grant us a limited license to process your content only as needed to operate the Service — for example, to transcribe audio through our managed relay, generate AI responses you request, or sync data you have enabled.
Intellectual property
Scriba, its branding, software, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or source code except the limited right to use the Service as intended.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". AI-generated summaries, transcripts, and chat responses may contain errors. You should verify important decisions independently. Scriba is not legal, medical, or professional advice.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Managed transcription and AI features depend on third-party providers and network conditions.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scriba and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or (b) USD $100.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, but sections that by nature should survive (including disclaimers and liability limits) will remain in effect.
Local data on your Mac remains under your control. Export your archive before uninstalling if you need a copy.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
