What we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have across Scriba.
This Privacy Policy explains how Scriba ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Scriba macOS app, the Scriba web client, and this marketing website.
Meeting content — audio, transcripts, summaries, and chat — is designed to stay on your Mac first. We do not store meeting content in our authentication database.
Depending on how you interact with getscriba.app, we may process:
When you sign in, we store your account profile, subscription status, and billing relationship through Supabase and Stripe. This includes your email address, plan tier, and payment metadata. Stripe processes card payments; we do not store full card numbers.
Scriba stores meetings in a local SQLite database on your Mac. Audio files sit in an application support folder on the same machine. This is the primary copy of your data.
If you are signed in, the app may sync meeting metadata and audio to AWS (DynamoDB and S3) for cross-device access, subject to your plan and storage limits. Sync credentials are scoped per user.
When you use managed mode, audio chunks are sent to our streaming relay for transcription (AssemblyAI, EU region) and text is returned to your device. Chat and summary requests are proxied through Supabase Edge Functions to Anthropic. We enforce usage quotas on these requests.
Providers process data only to deliver the feature you requested. We do not use your meeting content to train public models through these managed integrations.

We use cookies and local storage to run the site and remember your choices. Non-essential cookies are only set after you consent.
You can review or change your preferences at any time via Cookie settings in the footer or our /privacy page. Categories: Essential (required), Marketing (waitlists and newsletters), Personalization (reserved), and Analytics (usage measurement).
Account and billing records are kept while your account is active and as required for tax, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. Local meeting data remains on your Mac until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Cloud sync data may be archived or deleted when you delete your account, subject to our data-deletion procedures.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us at the email below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
You can export meetings from the Mac app at any time. You may also manage marketing and analytics cookies through the site banner.
Scriba is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date below reflects the latest version.
